Sarah Palin’s teenage daughter angrily denounced reports today that she was to blame for breaking up with the father of her two-month-old son.
Bristol Palin, the daughter of last year’s controversial Republican vice-presidential candidate, responded after it emerged that she and her fiancé, Levi Johnston, had split up.
The story first emerged in the tabloid Star magazine, which quoted Mr Johnston’s sister Mercedes saying that Ms Palin and her mother were to blame for the break-up. The couple had been due to marry this summer.
“Levi tries to see Tripp every single day, but Bristol makes it nearly impossible,” Mercedes Johnston is quoted as saying.
“She tells him he can’t take the baby to our house because she doesn’t want him around ‘white trash’. The worst part, Ms Johnston tells the magazine, is that Governor Palin supports her daughter’s treatment of Mr Johnston.
Ms Palin said in a statement issued through her mother’s political action committee that she was devastated by the report in Star. “Unfortunately, my family has seen many people say and do things to ‘cash in’ on the Palin name. Sometimes that greed clouds good judgment and the truth.”

Both families need to stop talking to the media. The media should show some decency and leave these families alone. However, I hold out no hope for that.
I wonder when Mrs. Johnston is due in court? She needs to stop talking to the media because they would love to bury her.

Hey Palin and Levi, take it to the Jerry Springer show.
Levi is a fool if he let’s go of that treasure of a girl .
She will be a wonderful mother and a great wife and has a very solid family they can all depend on . Bristol on the other hand is making a huge mistake if indeed she is becoming haughty and controlling (which I doubt) Levi seems like a great guy . Handsome , motivated and he loves his son.
They would make a wonderful couple. I suggest that they stop all the fussing ,and take any problems they have before the Lord right away , go ahead and get married and stop talking to the media . It would help if the Palins and the Johnstons got together and had BBQ’s and did stuff together on some regular basis as well . Just ‘be family’ ,it’s easy
but now Sarah’s political future will be tied to Bristol’s personal issues
My only disappointment is that the First Dude didn’t exercise some Shotgun Diplomacy when this first hit the fan. The guy isn’t denying paternity but that would have made damn sure he’s on the hook for child support and divorces are easier maybe than putting up with all this crap.
But hell, it’s their call, their life. And it’s not like the same thing hasn’t happened 500,000 times in the last few months, so move along people...

Let these two work their problems out without press interference.
The MSM is taking the same approach to Sarah Palin as the Romans did with Carthage in the final Punic War. They want to destroy her utterly, and make sure she’s so toxic (plowing the land with salt, so to speak) politically she can never hope for a comeback. They see her daughter’s troubles as the best way to do that at the moment.
It’s not working with me, chumps. The more you attack Sarah, the more I know I was right to support her.
You mean how Ronald Reagan was tied into what his kids did. Have we forgotten Patti Davis posing for Playboy..no one seemed to make that into an issue. Bristol is just a kid who made stupid choices in her life, just like millions of other teenagers, and even adults do every single day
