If you go out durring a shower you can see dozens. I guess that makes you live forever.

Not fireballs, however. You see dim ionization trails. I’ve seen a fireball (in Virginia in 1987, near midnight) and it incredible. Mine was visible from North Carolina to New York according to news reports.
I witnessed the Leonid peak circa 2000 and it was spectacular but there weren’t any fireballs.

If you go out during a shower you can see dozens. You better make sure you're at least wearing a towel! There are laws against being naked in public.
