Ogden police received a complaint from a woman who says someone put a curse on her, forcing her to hire a witch doctor.
Police say Jennifer Madrigal called them around 10 a.m. Tuesday to file a harassment complaint against Guadalupe Fernandez Andrade, who Madrigal claimed had put a spell on her.
The curse was that Madrigal would be hit by a car.
Madrigal was upset that she had to hunt down a witch doctor and pay $800 for a ritual involving an egg to reverse the spell.
The Standard-Examiner reports the relationship between the women is unclear, but the curse apparently came after a dispute over food stamps.
Ogden police tell the Standard-Examiner this could be the strangest call they've ever received.
...The relationship between the two women was unclear, but Ogden Lt. Dave Tarran said the dispute had something to do with food stamps.
"One was mad at the other because she spent all her food stamps on beer and not enough on cup'o noodles," Tarran said. "In 32 years I have seen a lot of weird calls. Some claim to be Jesus, others say they work with the CIA. But this one was weird too."
she paid a witch doctor $800? and this is a fight over food stamps?
We are importing ignorant peasants and providing them with food stamps, which they fight over. What is wrong with this picture? The egg is for a “limpia,” or cleansing, in which the bruja runs the egg over the body of the victim, and supposedly all the evil gets sucked into the egg and the person is healed. There is a market in Mexico City where they perform walk-in limpias. No appointment necessary.
Now that's service. Does insurance cover it?
foodstamps for beer? I though alcohol was on the no list.
People sell the food stamps or the food card on the street or to acquaintances for reall $$$. Then they can go buy their goodies.
Oh. Thanks for the answer.
