Doubtful, almost zero chance of being successful.
I’ve taken a large number of them apart. They are pretty much designed “in toto”, and missing any piece would make it useless.
It’s not like picking up a PC Desktop case, going out and buying a power supply, picking up a board and some memory and a hard drive and stuffing it together.

Apart from minor upgrades and fixes such as HDDs and RAM, working on laptops is usually more trouble than they are worth.
If I can keep my old Averatec laptop going the rest of this year, I hope to be able to get a new one. The tips about the refurbished Dells and Macs are appreciated and bookmarked.
