Let me begin by saying I treasure the opportunity Ive had to represent the great State of California, and I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the thousands of Californians, and other Americans, I have met and who have stood with me through this controversial firestorm. One of the many enduring things about being Miss California USA was the opportunity to get to meet and know so many wonderful people. I would not be the strong, courageous woman I am today without your support, and prayers.
I would like to thank Mr. Donald Trump and his organization for his support and defending me through the most challenging time of my life. I am so grateful for him, and the opportunity Ive had to get to know him. I admire, and respect him. I wish Tami Farrell the best; I know she will do a great job.
I hope Americans watching this story unfold, take away the most important lesson I have learned through all of this: nothing is more important than standing up for what you believe in, no matter what the cost may be. Ive done my best under the difficult circumstances to handle the vicious attacks with integrity and show respect to others, even those who dont agree with me.
I worked in good faith to meet my responsibilities as Miss California USA. I have met every scheduled appearance, and responsibility, as recently as May 31st. I have followed the proper protocol requested of me and havent made any appearances or speaking engagements without the consent or approval from the Miss California USA or Miss Universe Organizations. I have not signed with any book publisher or taken on any business proposals. As of today, June 11, 2009, I have done everything possible to honor my contract.

That freedom of opinion is for Liberals only.
She should walk away with her head held high and do what God meant her to do....SCREW THEM!
Why did they allow controversial questioning of a beauty pageant contestant—why didn’t they vet Hilton’s question if there was a possibility they wouldn’t like the answer? I definitely think Prejean should sue.
I’m only here for the pics!
I think she has strong morals, ethics, and values in fighting back with grace and style.
I know I’m not the most religious person here, but, I think her religious faith has helped her and prepared her for this trying time in her life.
Which person has better morals, ethics, and values? Carrie Prejean, or Perez Hilton?
Carrie Prejean hopes to become a teacher. She has done volunteer work with special needs kids. She is an all around good person. Which person has done or will do the most to benefit society, Perez Hilton and his homosexual friends, or people like Carrie Prejean?????
Why does having the politically incorrect position on one issue cancel out all the good you have done, and all the good you can do? Why do the homosexual activists even care who Miss California is??????? The winning girl in a beauty pageant is beyond their frame of reference, just as the activities in The Castro are beyond the frame of reference of most of us here.
I think Mr. Trump should get rid of that snarky pagent director. He was beaming when he had announced Carrie was no longer Miss California and what they did by telling her personally is really bad. This man has burned a lot bridges. I would not give him a job.
Meant to say not telling her personally was a cheap shot.
Might think about reformatting your response. LOL! ;-)
what pics?
This woman has been through so much. She will come out of this stronger.
Because that is the purpose of political correctness - to destroy the good.
Well, I was hoping for Miss California, or the previous Miss California.
See, I am lazy... I know I could google search these pics, but, again I’m lazy.
RULES..!!!!!
The politics in the pageant isn’t worth it. Thank you, Carrie for standing up for your beliefs and not be steamrolled by the likes of egomaniac Trump & his lackeys like Lewis.
Is that your picture on your freep page? I’d kill for that hair!
