Vanity - Looking for free Patriotic Music

Can anyone recommend some websites where I can download free patriotic music for the 4th? I'm guessing Susa, military marches, themes of the armed forces, that kind of thing?

Google: John Phillip Sousa or Marine Corp Band. You should have a big selection.

Star and Stripes Forever; National Emblem are a couple you will recognize and what to include.

The Armed Services bands have music available for free download on their websites.

http://www.usafband.af.mil/ensembles/BandDiscography.asp?albumID=15

That is one link to the USAF Concert Band’s page.

I surfed into a really interesting site with TONS of such recordings from the former Soviet Union. Would be really a shame if one does not exist for the USA.

Go half way down and there’s a play button just to play the song.

I doubt it's free, but I will be listening to "Mansions of The Lord", as performed by the West Point Academy Cadet Glee Club. It was played on the soundtrack of "We Were Soldiers", at the very end of the movie as the credits roll.

It'll bring tears to your eyes.

There’s a Japanese guy (go figure) who is posting high quality versions of Sousa on youtube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQ6wUNLCIhU&feature=related

Just copy the link, and you can then have the file converted to MP3 and sent to your e-mail for free at below site. You can then burn to CD or play from Computer

Use this one to start: US Marine Band - free music downloads.

All the other service branches also have sites where you can download their bands' music. Have fun!

Youtube.com has everything.
Except a decent version of “Columbia, the Gem of the Ocean.”

Check the Canteen thread here on FR on Saturday (the thread is usually started on Friday night). Search keyword Canteen if you don’t find the thread. The “DJs” there regularly post all kinds of music and I will be shocked if there isn’t a bunch of patriotic stuff this weekend. But anytime, if you ask for some patriotic music, you will get a ton of it.

I am pinging a couple of the DJs to this thread. Be sure to get some of Drumbo’s US Navy Steel Band stuff. That band is awesome — especially the drummer. How’s that for sucking up, Drumbo?

Thanks Kathy. You’re the best. Keep ‘em coming. We just turned off our Sirius subscriptions so I need to make myself a good CD of driving music.
