Sorry, hon, but I think if someone is diabetic, they should not use sugar OR sweeteners. Instead they should (and I’ve done it so I know it’s bleeping hard) go detox and have 3-4 really bad days, where no white flour, sugar, fake sugar, honey, white rice, dried fruit, canned fruit is eaten. The 3rd day will be the worst, where cravings for sugar are as high as someone craving heroin. BUT YOU WILL LIVE THROUGH IT.

Thereafter you will NOT crave sugar as often or as much, unless it creeps into your diet again. You will have more energy and if it’s Type 2 diabetes it will actually go away (add simple exercise). You will find how much of a little “something” (like raisins into oatmeal) can be added without you getting hooked on sugar again. You will adore the tastes of vegetables that you don’t like now.

Just call me an online idiot, and ignore this, but really, if you went through the sugar/sweetener withdrawal and got to the other side, it’s a CURE (for type 2) and not just a muddling through, holding the symptoms from getting worse type of thing, which is what fake sugar does.
