How do I add a video properly to a blog post?

How do I add a video to my blog posts so that they show up? I have seen some posts with videos I can watch but when I look at my previews I cannot tell if they work or not.

If it is a Youtube video over on the right side of the Youtube page under the description it gives you the html to copy where it says “Embed.” Copy that and paste it on your blog.

You can’t embed videos on FreeRepublic, by the way. If you want to post one here you will have to settle for a link.

I am a fiscally conservative, socially moderate Independent. If that doesn’t meet your standard of what a concerned American citizen should be I can’t do anything about that.

Goto youtube and look to the right of the Video Screen of the Video you wish to use and look for the embed code or the video link: (They are usually both listed.)

You will use one or the other to actually have the video show-up on your blog. (It depends on how your Blog software works)
