I emailed the white house though the “contact white house” site. Never asked for a reply. Then I got 2 emails from Axelrod. This has to be where they got my address but to say someone else is doing this is ridiculous...unless someone else has a .gov email address and is using their letterhead, their names, their talking points. Are they trying to say that SEIU or ACORN is sitting in the WH collecting email addresses?
No, you got the email from Axelrod because you emailed the white house. The other people were saying they had never contacted the white house website, email or any other affiliated Obama organization and were getting this spam email from Axelrod.
What I was saying was that Obama supporters were suggesting that people who dislike conservatives (i.e. dims and libtards) could easily sign up someone for email contact from the white house by simply submitting their enemy’s email address to the white house site.
I believe that's illegal under U.S. anti-spam laws. The White House should have told you that you would be receiving regular e-mail from them and that you would be on a list that could potentially be used by others (i.e. a third party, David Axelrod). They should also have provided a "check-box" for you to opt out of their mass-mailing program.
Would you mind posting a copy of the actual e-mail from Axelrod (with your identfying information deleted)?
I have seen many of these mass-emailing "templates" and might be able to recognize where it came from.
