About AmeriCorps >
The AmeriCorps Pledge
As an AmeriCorps member, you are expected to adhere to the AmeriCorps pledge. ( If you dont have a pledge certificate, ask your project director for one.) The pledge represents the commitment you have taken to serve not just this year, but in the years ahead.
The AmeriCorps Pledge
I will get things done for America -
to make our people safer,
smarter, and healthier.
I will bring Americans together
to strengthen our communities.
Faced with apathy,
I will take action.
Faced with conflict,
I will seek common ground.
Faced with adversity,
I will persevere.
I will carry this commitment
with me this year and beyond.
I am an AmeriCorps member,
and I will get things done.
The AmeriCorpse* Pledge
I will get things done for 57 states -
to make our servants safer,
docile, and healthier. [Whether the livestock likes it or not]
I will bring our wage slaves together
to strengthen our hold on power.[Whether the livestock likes it or not]
Faced with apathy,
I force submission.[Whether they like it or not]
Faced with conflict,
I will throw insults ‘round.[Whether they like it or not]
Faced with adversity,
I will milk them some more.[Whether they like it or not]
I will carry this commitment
with me to the gates of Hell.[Because the Marxists’ dupes never learn from mistakes]
I am an AmeriCorpse member,
a strutting cockerel in uniform.
[With nothing to crow over]
