While "going green" and riding bicycles more is one thing, this editorial proves that
WAY too many bicyclists have a
holier than thou attitude and cause way too many collisions with pedestrians and motor vehicles. The problem at the Brooklyn Bridge is common in many urban areas (remember the
Critical Mass bicycle rides in San Francisco?).
Why don't bicyclists bother to actually learn the rules of the road? Indeed, here in California you can be cited for most of the same violations of the law that can happen when you drive a motor vehicle (cutting off traffic, riding in the wrong direction, not following road signs and traffic signals, an so on).

One of the problems is motorists. They pay little attention to bicycles who are often injured and killed by holier than thou motorists. Most are trying to stay a live and avoid the holier than thou cars. Cars are the problem, not bicyclists.

Simple, ban bicyclist's from the streets.

Motorists hate the cyclists and pedestrians, cyclists hate the pedestrians and SUVs, locals hate the tourists, pedestrians hate the bycycles and cars.
Don't you just love the big city!

Cyclists are saving the planet, so they have special rights that pedestrians and motorists don’t have.
Next time one flies through a red light or stop sign and forces you to swerve and hit another car or a telephone pole, or one clobbers you as you’re trying to cross a street, instead of cursing him, thank him and compliment him on his magnificent physique.
