CALDWELL, Idaho Police say an Idaho woman who made a false 911 call to lure paramedics out of their station made a real emergency call minutes later when she got trapped under the station's garage door.
Melissa R. Farris died Oct. 2 of injuries suffered when she was crushed by the closing garage door at the Canyon County station.
Farris, a former paramedic at the station, had been trying to crawl under the door after the ambulance left to respond to a nonexistent traffic accident she'd called in a few minutes earlier.

This is a good Darwin award nominee.
why?
D’OH!
“Farris, a former paramedic at the station, had been trying to crawl under the door after the ambulance left to respond to a nonexistent traffic accident she’d called in a few minutes earlier.”
I guess there can be justice once in a while...calling in a fake 911 call can be lethal to some poor bastard who needs it...
“But according to a police report obtained by KBCI-TV, her sister told investigators that Farris may have been going after prescription medication stored in the station.”
That's one quick detox solution...
My best guess is she intended to rob or vandalize the fire station. The article said she made the call to lure them out, and then was trapped/crushed by the station's door.
Darwin Award.
LOL, bcsco, LOL
Instant Karma’s gonna get you....
Sounds like she was up to something no good.
What do you want to bet if she had lived she would of filed a lawsuit that would require all FD to install safety door stop devices or what ever you call those things.
Which IMO a great idea for private homeowners.
1. Former paramedic turned druggie decides to sneak into paramedic station to steal drugs
2. Calls 911 to report injury in traffic accident
3. Tries to sneak under closing garage door when ambulance leaves
4. Gets caught by garage door and crushed
5. Calls 911 to get help
6. Dies from injuries
I’m sorry, we’re going to have to pass on this teleplay. No one would find this believable.
Hey, she was fortunate. Think of all those years she’d have been wasting away. Here, her problem was solved in one fell swoop, or roll, or grrrrrrindinging..., whatever.
That's the first thing that popped into my mind.
Whoa.
My garage door won’t shut if anything is under there.
That could well happen with or without her survival.
You really can’t make this kind of stuff up.
I wonder who she voted for.
