Anyone having trouble with spell check? (A ghost in the machine Vanity)
FR spell check ^ | Dec. 13, 2009 | fanfan

Sometimes when I use spell check, every word is highlighted as being incorrect.

It just happened again, so I looked at the properties of the page, but I don't know what any of it means.

Are there any technical people who could tell me what it says?

Also, does this happen to any of you? Are you having any other strange problems?

Are you logged in?

Hint: preview then spell check.

I see this frequently, at least every third or fourth time I spell check something. Sometimes it takes me two or three tries to get beyond the problem.

Although I have not seen it yet today.

Does this happen to you if you spell check before hitting preview?

I’ve seen it a few times. I’m not sure, but I think it happens if you hit preview before spelling. I’ve only seen it about three times.

As long as the word “Obama” keeps showing up with a red line beneath it, I’m happy with spell check.

Actually no. It seems to be pretty much a random thing. I am a programmer and pay attention to such things, but nothing has seemed fit a pattern that I’ve seen so far.

I figured if it was a widespread problem someone would bring it up sooner or later.

Sometimes if I go back and then forward again, the sprell check works. Don’t know why.

I get that here on my machine every so often. Maybe once or twice a day. Been that way for months.

Now I am confused...Bert said the opposite.

I wonder why it happens more often to some than others?

Use Firefox, it has a built-in spell check.
