It sounds like something fishy is going on. But unlike Obama, I don’t like jumping to conclusions until I see all of the evidence and hear both sides of the story.

Most Americans value and honor our amazing fortune in being born in this great country, and we are made fools by the people who never earned the right to live here, yet they come, they stay, they benefit from our generosity.
Having said that, the young men who murdered the immigrant and the law enforcement officers who protected them, should be punished with the full weight of the law. Our American ideals for which men and women have fought and died deserve no less. There is no argument one could make to excuse or pardon the behavior of these criminals.
But there is still a much larger issue. Illegal immigration runs rampant in this country, and its acceptance empowers those who are inclined already to behave criminally, as these men did. That issue is not resolved, even though a decisive majority of Americans are profoundly troubled by the lack of enforcement of immigration laws.
The people who support, enable or condone illegal immigration, and the politicians who have looked the other way for decades, have undermined the rule of law which, most fundamentally, is the glue that binds the citizens of our nation together. Without that glue, in time the nation we know and the ideals of liberty and self-government, will perish.
