Well, this is what I see:
If the Conservative [non-blogger/non-independent] Media and State-Run Media are pushing Huckabee This early before 2012,
then he'll most likely feel safe enough to be glad-handed by the Networks and Talking-Heads until the election cycle rolls around.
This will necessitate that Sarah work harder to win-over the Independents and Blue-Dog Democrats and allow her to "hold her fire" until the Primaries.
I sure hope I'm ot being too optimistic here.

It makes me sad that so many people who call themselves Republicans would vote for Huckabee.
“Snake Oil Salesman” is the phrase that comes into my mind EVERY time I hear the guy... in an almost Clintonesque way, I don’t believe a word I hear coming out of his mouth. If he’s the Republican candidate, I’m leaving the party. NEVER AGAIN will I vote for another Republican loser just because he has an “R” next to his name.

Ouch - Newt? You’re kidding me!!! I wanted to vote for Cheney, but know he will not run, so Palin was my obvious CONSERVATIVE choice.

He knows how to deal with the media. He can be very disarming because he can have Ann Coulter or Al Sharpton and he still keeps the same calm demeanor.

Newt gave us the Contract with America and balanced the budget while cutting spending and taxes. Reagan and Bush couldn’t do that. And Palin raised taxes. She’s a great speaker and a wonderful person but she’s not the “conservative’s conservative” that she’s made out to be.
But no, I seriously don’t want Newt to run for prez for all kinds of reasons. We should be able to do much much better than those choices.

So?
He's political pragmatist.
He's more concerned about winning than leading from Principle.
In other words, he's not a leader, but a pandering politician.
To: davek70
Done but the DU got in there first and voted for the Huck.

you can lead from principle and still maintain a warm, friendly demeanor. That’s what Reagan was all about.
