CHICAGO - The mother of a 2-year-old girl left abandoned at a Chicago restaurant says her daughter was left alone due to misunderstanding.

Police said the mother, whose identity was not released, claims she left her daughter at a Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza restaurant because she thought the girl was spending the night with her aunt, the Chicago Tribune said Sunday.

The girl's aunt also departed the restaurant with the belief the girl was staying with her mother for the night, police said.

The young girl was found alone at the eatery Saturday night after the adults both departed and her picture was posted online to find family members .

“I used to hate Chuck E. Cheese too, but because of all the bacteria lurking about. That ball pit is a cess pool of nocosomial infection.”

Exactly. Hence the reason we call it Upchucky Cheese!

Big time. He is an elementary school teacher and the kids love him because he’s so much fun.

Eww. There used to be a ball-pit at the now-defunct Opryland I used to go to as a kid. They made you take your shoes off to jump in it, and I always wondered why the pit was WET at the bottom... *shudders*
