People like Christopher Buckley and Peggy Noonan are good at being wrong, they both like living in high style among their elite liberal friends. The way to stay in good standing among that crowd is by being wrong and acting like a whimpering puppy when asked about politics. You must be subserviant enough so that all the leftists in the room can laugh at you and feel superior.
So Christopher Buckley now admits he was wrong?
I don't care. Conservatives would have to be stupid (I know, they aren't called the Stupid Party for nothing) to accept him or Peggy Noonan back. Let him live in his doghouse. Let him keep his leash on for his leftist friends and continue to play tricks for them.
They are the ones who fell in love with the faux image of Barack Obama despite all the proof to the contrary. They are the ones who chose to dismiss the mans own words and ... oh right, he had no actions did he? Based on NOTHING these fools threw away everything they said they believed in to support a socialist for President.
They should not be allowed back into our side of the yard, let them stay in the mudhole they created without tacking it over to our picnic. They're sure to stumble and step on our plate. Oh yes, they will continue to write and say stupid things. They will now support only the most liberal of the RINO herd, even while bleating on about how conservative they really are.
It's enough to choke a T-Rex.
Chris is a friggin’ idiot and no, I will never expect to trust his words again.
What an unbelievable idiot Buckley is, his father must be turning in his grave.
I beg to differ with you, it's NOT "conservatives" who are called the "stupid party" but Republicans" who have gained that status.
I'd venture a guess that when folk gave them that mantle, it was over lunatic decisions by RINOs in charge.
Let's be honest, Chris voted for Obama because he's black. Chris wanted part of the cool people who voted for the first African American. It's nothing more than symbolism over substance.
Now, suddenly, Buckley has to reconcile his support for Obama in light of the statist policies Obama has pursued in health care (and for that matter, on energy as well). Had Buckley and the media paid more attention during the campaign, none of this would have shocked them. For that, Buckley gets the Captain Louis Renault award for his surprise that Obama turned out to be a traditional left-politics President after a short career of supporting nothing but traditional left-politics:
Anyone dumb enough to ever fall for 0bama’s schtick ought to go to a corner, be very quiet, and hope no one notices. But, anyone dumb enough to fall for 0bama’s line in the first place, isn’t smart enough to be quiet.
“But having a first-class temperament and a first-class intellect...”
Note that Buckley still doesn’t grasp or let himself acknowledge that Obama doesn’t have a “first class temperament” and/or a “first class intellect” and is simply being misled. Poor Barack, it’s not his fault!!
Stupid Buckley, you were snookered and can’t let your ego down long enough to admit it.
bump
She does know something about politics, which is more than can be said for him. And I don't think she endorsed Obama, either.
Sure, she gets some things wrong, but she and Buckley aren't in the same category, so far as I can see.
I’m shocked, I tell ya.
They're just journalists - fancy typists. We can't welcome or not welcome them back to anything. They just type stuff and we have no control over it.
They've proven themselves to be willing dupes - their loyalty is to upper crust dinner parties, not ideology.
The wine and brie crowd just lurved Obama and they darest not reveal themselves as some sort of bumpkins by bucking the trend. It just isn't done.
And their lesson will go unlearned - they will support any dandy with a fancy eastern college pedigree and continue to treat somebody like Palin as they treat their cleaning woman.
