I used to enjoy long walks in the woods while stationed at NAS Kodiak, but never without my .375 Mag strapped on. And depending on the time of year something bigger on my shoulder

I was walking out of my “hotel” room in a small Alsakan town with my shotgun on my shoulder as I headed out to do some field work. Some tourist gal walking her dog exclaimed “Well - that sure is a scary gun!”

I replied: “Well, that sure is a scary dog.”

(Although I would have preferred to have a dog with me as well as a gun!”
