> I'm reminded of audiophiles who will pay a $1000 for a string of wire that doesn't work any better than a $5 string of wire, simply because perceived sound quality is directly proportional to dollars spent.

Now its $1000 audiophile grade power cords. Not needed IMHO, nut you will find a difference between the $5 hunk of zip cord and a large, (12 or 14 guage) cable. You don't have to spend huge amounts to get a noticeable improvement in bass response, dynamics and imaging.

There are a lot of words put out on the Internet regarding these fancy "aged" adult beverages. For me, I am satisfied with fresh cider, served cold (Woodchuck being my favorite branch) or draft beer, preferably pilsners such as Pilsner Urquell as well as my namesake brew.

Regarding distilled beverages, despite having the means to do so, I could never bring myself to drink the really top shelf stuff that goes for hundreds of dollars a bottle. My guilty pleasures are mostly limited to Patron tequila (about $65 a bottle) and the occasional ice wines ($30-40 a bottle) that I might serve as a dessert wine after a Thanksgiving dinner or something. As for wine, I normally stick to the $15 a bottle pricepoint.

Even if you are a connoisseur, is it really worth it to pay so much money for any kind of booze?

Quality will cost ‘ya, and in my case, a bottle will last several years before it is finally finished. Its nice to have something special available when I'm in the mood for a treat.

Dittos on the cider, & "perry" (pear cider) as well.

You must have kids. There is no other way to explain how you could be that out-of-your-mind.

Unlike wine, scotch gets beeter with age, not turning to vinegar. The longer it sits, the less you taste the alcohol burn on the tongue, and the more sweetness and spices you taste.

For a mixed scotch JWB is very good, but I do not like it as much as a single malt scotch of any year.

Ahhhh. Thanks.

The most expensive stuff I’ve ever tasted was in China.

Don’t recall the names . . .

still tasted plenty like fire water. LOL.

Though some was mellower.

I think they LIKE the fire water taste.

I am allergic to alcohol. I could have a stroke from too much. I can have a little, but I limit myself to one drink.

Having said that, since my limitations are so extreme, I do not waste my time on less than the very best, if i drink at all.

You must have kids. There is no other way you would understand! But the bill for the drink lasts far longer than the taste of the drink.
