FujiFilm's latest adds face detection for cats and dogs

Animal lovers, your day has come. FujiFilm must have run out of things to do with human subjects (hell, they've even conquered 3D, apparently) because the company's new Finepix Z700EXR features face detection for felines and canines as a major selling point. Okay, maybe I'm selling the technology short. It's hard enough to take a picture when you've only got one hand since you're holding a treat in the other. I don't even know what you'd do to make a cat care about a camera — well, or about anything, really.

The Finepix Z700 sports a 12-megapixel sensor, a 3.5 LCD screen, and is easy to handle being only 0.6 inches thick.

Thanks, Joe. But what about my purgatory cat? (He’s black and white.)

My SONY used to (before it was stolen) do face recognition with statues! I got a kick out of that.

BTW, some of my best kitty pix were done by making still shots from video.
