So basically, the new fashion is to become, well, me.
Great.

Some fashion designer from Milan and his boyfriend are once again telling men that they should throw out their clothes and buy a whole new wardrobe this year. Why are they so desparate to get men on the "new design this year and you will die of shame if seen wearing last year's clothes" treadmill?

Real men would lead a battalion of Tommies against the Zulu for Queen and Country.
How’s that for retrosexual?

Say goodbye to the sensitive guy who cries at the drop of a pink tee, or the slacker living with his mother, playing video games. This new man has ambition and aplomb, brawn and brains. This woman says WELCOME BACK!

I took a look at the photos. I’m all for hats and suits — classic style. But I will never be ok with ‘men’ wearing decorative fringed scarves looped around their necks.

Interesting. So women have largely realized they cannot be supermom, etc. But men need to change the oil and a diaper, clean the sink, shoot a gun, etc. Oh well, they will figure it out.
I don’t know but I don’t think a man has to tell me he is manly.

Guys’ guys are, as they always were, still around. And, as always, the red-blooded strong silent types continue to work relatively silently ... leaving the drama to feminists and whiners.
I read “The Art of Manliness” on occasion, and find it an enjoyable read, even if I don’t always take fashion or shaving tips (Gilette is fine with me). Even being an attorney, I’m not particularly interested in fashion (”dapper” or otherwise), and generally dress to blend-in, not stick out ... so I’m not really the fedora-wearing-type. I dress well enough that people don’t think I’ve kidnapped my well-dressed wife ... but not well enough that it isn’t entirely clear that I’ve married up.
Nonetheless, I highly recommend the AOM website. Good information about how good men get things done.

Check out the "Art of Manliness" website. It is a hoot and a great time. Their book has merit as well.
It is way past time for us men to be men again!
