I’d say also that Reagan “using” this occasion to push our side of the Cold War was monstrous and provocative.
Reagan was amazing: he was on message when it came to the Cold War, and utterly relentless. We enjoy greater freedom today b/c he and others ended the Cold War. This speech was part of that.
