EIB Sob story idea: The Delta Smelt Food Desert

Posted on 04/11/2010 2:01:27 PM PDT by Halfmanhalfamazing

For those who don't remember, this link will give you some background into what california has had to deal with.

My idea is this: California's farmers were hit very hard when the water got shut off, why not have their stories be heard on the EIB network? I certainly don't remember any progressive journalist rushing out there to have their story reported on.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat; Miscellaneous; Reference
KEYWORDS: agriculture; biggovernment; california; delta; deltasmelt; environmentalism; farmers; fooddesert; liberalfascism; michelleobama; rush; smelt; sobstories; talkradio; water; waterrights
Reference: Coming Soon: EIB Sob Stories ( How has big government hurt you? )

And unlike Michelle Obama's insanity on "food deserts", having the water shut off on farmers is the only real food desert!

The EIB network is not about voicing grievances. Try local shows for that. The EIB network is about voicing the opinion of one man, and one man alone.

You talking about the one’s out in California who voted in Democrats who in turn turned off their water? Those that voted in Liberals who they KNEW were all about green and glow-bull warming? Yeah, how did that work out for ya? There is an election in a few months. I am willing to bet that you will still vote democratic in which case you may be dying of thirst but are aptly represented by those you voted into power. California is blue and is being very well represented by those they wanted to represent them.

The farmers tend to be more conservative. In fact, most of the state of CA is red... it’s just that the blue areas have so much population and voter fraud that they swamp out the conservative votes of the majority of the state.

If only those dippy liberals would realize that food doesn’t just magically appear in the stores, but is, in fact, produced by those same farmers they’re preventing from farming...

Your username (EXDEMMOM) and being, I assume, from Kalifornia, kinda speaks volumes as to my point. Too many “ex” Dems in California who went along with looney policies, gimme, gimme, gimme and oh those poor people are only here to work and those poor poor polar bears. Now that it is bitting you in the hind quarters, the problem is unmanageable without some serious amputations. Now that those people who were the uncaring, clueless rightwingers were right and it is obvious, then you are an “ex” Dem. The crisis started when the “ex” Dems were voting Democratic in the first place. I got plenty of water. I find any endagered species in my yard I kill them and I would never ever vote for someone who would choose to represent polar bears over me. I would never vote for someone who would represent delta smelt over me. And unless you are really stupid, you know who those people are before you cast a vote for them.

The farmers in the central valley aren’t voting for Dems.

The radical liberals of Los Angeles County and the San Francisco Bay Area are voting them in.

The farmers are held hostage.

Don’t kick the hostage.

So you want the farmers all to leave their farms?

“And a farm without water is good for what?”

Well, nothing. But they are fighting for their water.

Otherwise what can they do? Sell? Who would buy?

You know who was right in the middle of those people, screeching and crying the loudest? Paul Rodriguez the comedian. Like that guy is ever going to vote anything but Democrat.

Thanks Persevero. Interesting point — reminds me of the movie “Chinatown” all of a sudden.
