Key here is the fresh unpasteurized milk. Thats so toxic it warrants gestapo tactics.

Wow. Is this over pasteurized milk?

If Dan is Amish, how did he post this. Did he ask one of his “English” neighbors to do this for him?

If it is any comfort to Dan, that is the way a lot of Govt. agencies act. We had OSHA make a call on us by guys with the same attitude. They’d been tipped off by a disgruntled ex employee that one of our signs was not in order. We fixed it and that was the last we heard.

I hope it goes that easy for Dan. And I hope the “inspectors” get awakened in the middle of the night some time as payback.

When Public Safety trumps individual choice and self determination then the Republic is lost.

Wealthy yuppies ought to chip in and put in electronic surveilance on these poor farms...so that things remain out in the open. Otherwise, they can kiss their raw milk good-bye.

I wonder if the feds are so "thorough" and pushy with Tyson's food.

This is scary.

We should get 1,000 freepoers to show up at his house and buy fresh unpasteriuzed milk at 1$ a glass from him for his legal defense fund.

There has just been an outbreak of severe illness, resulting in coma, from drinking raw milk. This could be a public health issue.

He needs a 2 stage fenced strip around his farm with a dozen bear hounds. Never did see a bear hound that could read a search warrant.

I think they are operating under the USSC decision on interstate Commerce, that producing ANYTHING and NOT selling it across State lines IS and DOES affect interstate Commerce.

So no matter what you do or where you are subject to the interstate Commerce clause.

Agent Joshua C. Schafer told me they were there to do a "routine inspection."

Damn Nazi Germany all over again. I don't believe in armed violence against the goverment, but this is getting damn crazy.

A lot of hysteria here but the article doesn’t state specifically what corrections they are asking this Amish farmer to make.

He posts “Failure to make prompt corrections could result in regulatory action without further notice. Possible actions include seizure and/or injunction.”

Yet he does not state what corrections the feds are asking. Gee, I wonder why that is? Oh that’s right, he’s Amish and he’s special and he doesn’t have to pay taxes, and gets all kinds of special preferencial treatment by law. However, he doesn’t get exemptions from Federal commerce laws when trading OUTSIDE of Amish lands.

All Americans foot the bill for his and his families medical care. It does NOT matter one iota whether or not he is Menonite or not, Medicare and Medicaid cover the Amish. He had better be paying taxes on his non-Amish sales or he should be prosecuted and sent to prison like any other thief should be.

I’m glad someone is watching out for substandard milk production.

It would be better if freaks like that would police themselves.

are Amish people allowed black powder firearms? IIRC the range on a Sharps 50-120 was pretty good.

If you think it is bad now.

See: HR2749 FDA Food Takeover

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2406579/posts

To look at the bill, click on the header with HR2749.

Look at how your congressmen in your state voted on this monstrosity.

It passed the House, but has not passed the Senate.

This is an awful power grab by the FDA.

Regulation of food is stated to be about public health, but it is really about CONTROL.

I would hazard to guess that the pasteurized dairy industry is behind this. They have long had a heck of a lot of clout with government at all levels.

They managed to prohibit margarine for years, and for many more years, had it prohibited from being colored butter yellow by the manufacturer, who had to include a packet of dye to mix with it.

Don’t kid yourself to think this is about public health. Unpasteurized milk tastes so much better than the chalky crap that is sold as milk, that it is no contest. So the way around this is to prevent people from ever even tasting raw milk.
