COPENHAGEN, Denmark,- Danish air force officials said four soldiers were sent home from the U.N. mission in Lebanon for excessive drinking.

Tactical Air Command spokesman Lars Skjoldan said military personnel are allowed two drinks two days per week, but the four soldiers were extremely intoxicated when their commanding officer confronted them, the Copenhagen Post reported Thursday.

He said the alcohol consumption occurred during free time for the soldiers, but that did not mitigate the circumstances.

Skjoldan said the soldiers will go before the Military Auditor Corps and will likely face fines

That reminds me of the times those European countries like Sweden and Finland have soldiers accidently invading each other. heh

Don’t sell them short. Finland kicked the living sh*t out of the Soviets. One of the nastiest and brutal wars no one ever heard about in 1939-1940.

I meant peacefully. A truck or whatever crossing the unmarked border and finding a town. oops. That kind of thing, I find it funny.

If I were sent on a UN mission, I’d drink to excess, too.

As Bill Clinton might say, it depends on what the meaning of “a drink” is. Maybe they were told one drink equals 0,32 liters and they thought it was equivalent to 32 ounces. Victims of the metric system.

Generally it is crossing the border to buy cheaper booze. Saw that on a ferry between Sweden and Denmark. All the Swedish kids would go to Denmark to get drunk cause the booze was cheaper.

I’ll bet there weren’t any Vikings that ever got sent home for excessive drinking.

I remember seeing an article on that. To summarize:

Norwegians go to Sweden.

Swedes go to Denmark.

Danes go to Germany.

Germans go to Poland.

Poles go to Chicago.*

[* Joke. I think.]
