What is vodka eyeballing? A new fad among some kids in Europe may be spreading to the US. In online videos it is dubbed vodka eyeballing and now the claim is that some American teens have tried the odd way to get a buzz.
It is just as it sounds - supposedly it is a shot of vodka into the eye. This bizarre new "trend" has found a home on YouTube and some say they are concerned for US kids as the claim is that it will get you a buzz quicker than taking a shot of vodka by mouth.

Some are skeptical of that claim and the overall supposed trend of dumping alcohol into your eye. Is this nothing more than over-blown hype?
Are the people in the video really using alcohol, how do we know it is not water?
Washington Post writer Jenna Johnson indicates she is in the camp of skeptics and even points out that Gawker wrote a post ridiculing everyone involved and calling this "the dumbest trend piece ever."

It appears the trend continues as C-Health has a new item released on Monday with a common sense headline, "Vodka eyeballing bad for your eyes: health experts."
No kidding. How many kids are really doing this?
Trendy...
As they say: “You’ll go blind!”
Why, in your ear, silly.
I hate to have jam those ice cubes into my eye, for on the rocks.
“AHHHH!! [long and imaginative string of profanity deleted]!!!”
Darwin was right.
I don’t believe there are a many mucous membranes in the eye capable delivering the booze to the blood, but it sound highly unsafe. I think the best way to get loaded is down the hatch or up the bum.

There are many exposed capillaries in the eye that could quickly absorb the alcohol, so there may be some truth to it. But the same could apply to the penis too. Dip it in a glass of pure vodka and see how fast you get high.
"werked fur meeee"
I saw people snorting whiskey once, and I thought that was weird. This takes the prize. Why not just drink it?
This sounds like a media generated hooey.
Some of the more recent media scares on the subject including that girls were using vodka soaked tampons, children were drinking hand sanitizer, and the notorious “jenkem” hoax.
I remember the Blue Star media scare - kid’s stickers w/LSD being handed out at schools (allegedly).
Here’s mud in yer eye!
