Just got a Blackberry, and I found I Heart Radio. The disclaimer said charges my apply. Any users aware of what the charges might be? I sure don't want to run the bill up on something I could easily listen to on the radio.
Thanks
Who's your carrier, and do you have a(n unlimited) data plan?
Cellular South and yes it unlimited.
If you are on a wireless 802.11 link, no big deal, but if you are streaming via the phones network you could use up 2GB in about 30-35 hours.
Perhaps that's what they were referring to...
I’m listening to Glenn Beck on a station out of Atlanta (I’m in DC.....Rush up next). I have the data plan with Verizon Wireless and I have never been charged extra. I’ve been listening to this station for about 9 months now to catch both of those shows.
As long as you have an unlimited data plan you should be fine. Pandora is a better music app IMHO.
Flycast is another one you can try. I think they each offer a little something different.
The songs will come down as a data stream, because it’s audio, the stream will be pretty small. Chances are that you can listen to it pretty much all day long, and not pay any data rate charges - assuming you have the unlimited data rate plan.
Pesonally, I’m a fan of Pandora. Pandora has you set up an account, then you simply say what Rock Group you like. Say, of Rolling Stones or SuperTramp, or some other group. Pandora plays a song from one of their albums, then suggests similar types of music that other Rolling Stones fans liked. You give it a thumbs up, or thumbs down; and over time; Pandora finds what ‘types’ of songs you like, and plays nothing but songs that people with your tastes in music like. You wind up with a commercial free radio station, that is more or less tailored to your specific musical tastes. And it’s all ‘free’.
I like free, I can afford free.
Then you're probably OK, except you may want to download & try these alternate music streaming apps:
Pandora (m_f choice)
Data charges for connecting to the internet. Warning, some of the small carriers unlimited data isn’t really unlimited. The unlimited is for BIS transfer, they may charge for internet.
What link do you use that works for Rush on a blackberry?
How would they charge you?
I have it on my iPhone and it never asked me for any billing info to download the app. If you want talk radio the WMAL in DC app line up is Chris Plante A++, Rush A+, Hannity B-, and Mark Levin A++.
I have a blackberry and listen to I Heart Radio. I really enjoy it. My data plan is limited - our carrier does not offer unlimited. I was really concerned about running over and talked to some tech people (in the process of working out some other issues). They told me that it would be pretty difficult to run over using a blackberry and audio. I use it (on average) 3-4 hours per day and so far haven’t had a problem.
Radio time if available for your device lets you listen to any of a huge number of radio stations in real time including syndicated shows like Dennis Miller.
I cant remember but Beck and Rush are on 640WGST out of Atlanta. Try formats...then news/talk....scroll down to 640 WGST...it says Rush Limbaugh. Hannity is on one out of Nashville at 3:00
