I've been using stevia powder with no problems.

If you use Sweet and Low, be aware that it contains maltodextrin and sometimes other things besides pure saccharin.

If you want pure sacccharin, you might check out the little tablets (NectaSweet?) which are still available. I can use those with no problem, but most of the time I use stevia.

Stevia is the bomb. Kept out of the US for years by the sugar lobby. No calories. It’s an herb, for cry-eyed, sort of brownish-green, once dried, with leaves about the size of mint leaves.

A box of it lasts forever and a day. Well, not really, but we’re fans of it in this house.

And yes, we do like sugar. And honey.

My husband has used Stevia for years and loves it. A good alternative to the other chemical sugar substitutes.
