Anyone who was around then was amazed at how deftly an unremittingly hostile press managed to shift the blame for the war from Kennedy and Johnson onto Richard Nixon. 0bama will happily withdraw from Afghanistan as soon as there is someone onto whom to shift the blame - the media who will do it have already had a full dress rehearsal in demonizing Bush. Whoever the Republican candidate turns out to be in 2012 had better not be talking about any "secret plans to end the war."

How true, since many younger folks have pretty much now have turned against Obama, because of “buyers remorse”.
Also, the more hippies who lose their homes and see their kids upset and hungry, that’s another hippie reformed. Each time an illegal gets a job, that’s another Republican in the making.
Well thankfully lots of younger generations have a deep appreciation of our troops and I think that there will be a lot of changes.
