I think it all depends on how you use your time on the internet.
It’s amazing to me to see how much time some young people spend interacting with each other on the latest technology while having almost zero interest in the underlying basis of that technology. Not all, of course. I know there are plenty of young geeks and star warriors out there. But there are amazing number of zoned out texters who can’t think, can’t spell, can’t add, can’t reason, can’t do anything but shuffle text and images across the surface of their ever-handy cell phone in a never-ending quest to stay instantly and totally connected to a network of friends all has empty and vapid as themselves.

It has caused me to become an avid reader, and I am learning history, and civics. Before internet I was interested in none of this. I am constantly learning something new on the computer/internet.
