And you’re damn right, I’m a conservative activist...and I don’t see any problem going and “digging” an article, if it supports the truth. And I don’t see a problem being pinged, or pinging someone, to do the same.

Man, these guys are hateful.

Personally, I’m not into digg and am not really sure what it is other than it involves the concept of rating a site. I see the “digg it” icon from time to time and ignore it.

But the simple truth is that both sides have access to the internet.

Well Done Patriots! Way to beat the Progressive Fascists at their own game! I love the screams of anguish wafting off this article, it sounds like victory!

The left just won’t realize that the public is largely running away from them and towards the right.

WGAS? Liberals should be more worried about the failure of their messiah Obama and his economic disaster than some barely relevant internet site.

It is clear that the Digg Patriots are now capable of lifting any content they wish to the forefront of the largest social news site on the web, no matter how vitriolic and biased the content is and no matter how artificial its support may be.

Hmmm, sounds like a leftist complaining about his inability to do exactly that.

Btw, I'm not on digg, and likely never will be.

Soooo...some, ‘lil snot-nosed lib is upset because Digg isn’t uber-liberal, and conservatives are beating them at their own game? Hey lib, don’t sit there and try telling me you guys don’t ‘game’ the system either. The real issue is that we’ve watched you game the system for years and have learned. Now that we can strike back with equal or greater force, you throwing a tantrum.

The result is a peek into the consciousness of the internet: a mixture of comics, videos, sensationalism, and breaking news that is the growing face of new media.

More like the consciousness of a million dorm-room Democrats mired in the quicksand of reactionary groupthink.

Actually, the 'growing face' (an odd metaphor) of new media isn't growing much any more. Like a local bar that had an occasionally interesting mix of clientele but is now strictly the hangout of bikers, college kids, or some other homogeneous collective. Digg.com has dugg (wink wink) into a very deep rut in terms of both content and opinion and the opinion, such as it is, is consistently delivered in the most smug, sarcastic and vindictive manner possible. It is clear from content, grammatical style, and attitudes that the bulk of digg's posters are young men frustrated with their own shortcomings in a variety of areas who have been conditioned to mock and shout down ANYTHING that causes them additional contemplation of their inadequacies. Most appear to be students or recent graduates who seem very angry that the world hasn't discovered and rewarded their brilliance and wit.

Like anything that stays the same, all but hard-core users of the site have moved on to newer, better and usually more interesting things.

This is not to say that I discourage resistance to the overriding digg mentality or that I discourage posts or comments that challenge their crabs-in-a-bucket instincts. I will say that all-out victory in the real world is a much better antidote to the occasional thumbs-up vote in the virtual one.

Good for them. I remember when this was getting started here on FR. I didn’t really understand Digg or what they were trying to do. Looks like they were wildly sucessful. They should have called themselves “Diggolist”.

While the Digg userbase skews young, progressive, and irreligious, the DPs [Digg Patriots] strove to promote young earth creationism, global warming denial, and a variety of virulent conspiracy theories involving the Obama Administration. In truth, Digg Patriots was a hotbed for the most dissident of the Tea Party crowd, eagerly spreading the most baseless and inaccurate conservative memes and peppering their chosen stories with empty one-liners before forcing it to the front page.

Who the heck is Digg? And how can they have an open site and then complain that some of the people posting there do not belong to their preferred "user base"? Does anyone know if they have a preferred type of poster declaimed on their front page, as FR does?
