WARREN, Mich. - A Warren woman takes matters into her own hands after she says a pit bull attacked her small lap dog. She says it is not the first time the pup has attacked, so she shot it. Meanwhile, the owners of the pit bull are very upset. They say the dog is friendly and plays with all the kids in the area.
Is a seven-month-old pup who was shot in the back a victim or a ruthless and vicious dog? That depends on who you ask.
On Saturday, Tiffany Pope says Diamond, the next door neighbor's pit bull, attacked and was ready to kill her dog, so she pulled out a gun and fired one shot.

That breed should just be illegal.
Looks like a sweetheart dog.
Agreed. All yappy lapdogs into the gas chambers.
When I saw the headline, I thought “Woman, what an odd last name for poor Warren. Shall I address him as Mr. Woman?” After all I am sure there are a few Miss Manns out there.
Rather interesting post: Warren woman shoots the bull!
Looks like a sweetheart dog.
He does indeed. After watching the video at the link, he’s also a pretty tough dog too. I don’t think he even knows he’d been shot. The shooter had just been issued a CCW and was obviously looking to shoot something - anything. I think the issuers of the permit dropped the ball on this one...
Shot in the back? At least have the decency to put one between the eyes (save a round for the inbred owner).
Another pit gone, 2 million more to go ...
No she should just join the police department. They do this all the time.
This lady is right on, pits are dangerous. Bush doctrine FTW!
Yeah, we all know that as soon as someone gets a CCW, they go looking for something to shoot. /rolls eyes
Seek help, Chet99, you’re obsessed with pit bulls.
OK little Timmy Bauswell, WTF was your dog doing on HER property attacking HER dog?
If your dog is roaming loose with children around, who is to say it would not go from attacking small dogs to attacking small children?
Are you a believer in the 2nd Amendment? You sound just like a liberal with their asinine logic on this issue - “The scary permit and/or gun makes people want to shoot something!”
Did you see any wounds on that little dog?
If the shooter was telling the truth about the neighbors dog she was completely justified.
Every dog owner is responsible for the actions of their dog. You are also responsible for keeping your dog on your property.
The shot dogs owner admits that his dog was shot on the neighbors property. He has no one to blame other than himself.
Fence in your dog or put it on a leash or dont complain if someone shoots your dog.
If a stray dog comes on my property and I consider it a threat, I will not hesitate to shoot. I have collected several strays and taken them to the pound so I am not trigger happy in that regard but I will not take chances with a threatening animal.
Hey, Paisan, I guess you don't get out much. I've had a CCW permit since 1995, and strangely enough, sir, I've hever had any urge to go shoot anything or anybody. Guess I'm just abnormal. I gotta get with the program.
A Pitt Bull bite on a small dog can be lethal in seconds, pick up and head toss = snapped spine.
The dog was on her property, running loose, being aggressive/attacking her dog.
I would have shot it twice.
“They say the dog is friendly and plays with all the kids in the area.”
Sorry, but NOBODY would be stupid enough to let their kid play with a neighbor’s pit-bull.
