Best analogy of the Dems I have seen so far

Since taking control of Congress in 2007, and especially since expanding their congressional majorities and winning the White House in 2008, the Democratic Party has been baking a political cake.

Let's call it the "Enlightened Liberal Solutions" cake:

One heaping tablespoon of tax-the-rich class warfare, two cups of big government answers for all of America's problems, one large can of diced Keynesian economics, a half-pint of unconditional support for labor unions at the expense of free trade and the private sector economy, and a dash of national deficits and debt as far as the eye can see. Mix ingredients in a large VAT (tax), bake at 350 degrees for about 18 months, and, when cool, coat generously with a large tub of European-style-social-welfare-state frosting.

This cake has been baked and the Democratic brand has been re-invented.

The party now has no choice but to politically live or die based on how it tastes to the American people. Expect the reviews to begin pouring in on Nov. 2.

“Let them eat cake”... I hate cake.

Substitute 2 letters in the word “C A K E” and that is what I want to feed the libs. All of them...

it is impossible to unbake such a cake.

Modify the analogy by calling for the cake to take 36 months to bake, but instruct to remove in the 18th month, because all Liberal ideas should be considered ‘half baked’.

In November 2008, I really thought this nation was truly headed down that slippery slope to join Roman Empire in the dust bin of History. Maybe the Founding Fathers didn’t think of everything. Maybe this nation can be easily dismembered from the inside. But it looks like I was wrong. Much faster than I could have even dreamed the entire scheme of the Progressives began to flounder.

Now, yes they did pass “Obama Care” and the “Stimulus Package”. Don’t get me wrong there is severe damage done. But I did not think in my wildest dreams that the Progressives with their control of the media would have been rebuked so fast and with such force.

On Feburary 19th 2009, one month after Obama was inaugurated. A business reporter for CNBC(Yeah the Peacock network of all places) named Rick Santelli went on a rant, he saw the Stimulus for what it was, he knew it would not work. He cried out for a “Tea Party”. The rest is history.

Within months small Tea Parties sprouted up across the country. I went to two here in the Tampa Bay Area. This movement was laughed at by the liberal media. By the end of the summer in 2009, Democrats who voted for the Stimulus bill had a strange thing happen. Their constituents gave them an earful at Town Halls across America. Still the Liberal Media downplayed it.

Then came the off cycle elections in November 2009. Chris Christie a Republican won the Governor race in New Jersey…..NEW JERSEY!?!? One of the bluest states in the Union. The Liberal Media wrote it off as bad luck, Corzine had too much baggage. Oh yeah, on the same night Virginia’s Governor race went to the GOP and it was written off as “Well Virginia is purple and the Dems had a bad candidate running”.

What woke up the Progressives that their house of cards was on shaky grounds was the Senate race in Massachusetts to fill the seat held by Ted Kennedy for half a century. Massachusetts has to be “the” or one of the most liberal states in the Union. On January 19th 2010 Scott Brown won by 3 points.

After Browns win in January along with the races that previous November, the Progressives started to sense a problem. Obama’s polls have been going down; his push for Obama Care & Single Payer Health care was not catching traction. The Progressives went on a full court blitz at who they thought was the cause of their problems. The Tea Parties and two people, George Bush who they pin all problems “Past, Presentt and Future” on. And Sarah Palin who scares the crap out liberals everywhere. She has gotten under their skin to the level never imagined. In the elections this past Tuesday twenty out of thirty people she endorsed have won. And many of those were unknowns far down in the polls when she tapped on their shoulders.

So here we are, nine and a half weeks our from the 2010 Mid Term elections. The Primaries showed a huge disparity in the turnout between the Democrats and the Republicans. The GOP is fired up and the Dems are out of gas. So stock up on popcorn! November 2nd, 2010 is going to be fun to watch!
