Why Don’t Republicans Believe in Climate Change?
nytimes.com ^ | Oct. 12, 2010 | Ross Douthat

Ron Brownstein and Bill McKibben both have pieces up lamenting the ascendancy of climate change skepticism in the Republican Party. While McKibben ponders the intellectual roots of this phenomenon (a subject I touched on, as he notes, in a column earlier this year), Brownstein points out that the G.O.P. is an outlier among the developed world’s right-of-center parties:

But there’s no denying that its left the G.O.P. on the wrong side — and increasingly so — of a pretty sturdy scientific consensus.

Your scientific consensus is falling apart right before your eyes and you still believe the AGW lie....***Shakes head***

No one denies climate change. The climate changes yearly and in long waves in one direction or the opposite.

What intelligent people deny is the inability of mankind to cause/arrest or affect that change.

I believe in climate change, but that is the normal. There is nothing new here that warrants me giving up my standard of living for these leftist bums.

Perhaps it’s because we understand that climate will forever change, and despite our valiant tax-payer funded efforts, we will accomplish nothing measurable over the next 1000 years.

Except to re-distribute a whole lot of wealth.

Why Don’t Republicans Believe in Climate Change?

As hard as this may be to believe their disbelief has something to do with there being not a scintilla of evidence to support the theory.

We do believe in climage change, its been going on for billions of years, and yes, there is a sturdy scientific consensus on that. No, we don’t believe human activity is contributing to it because there is NO evidence at all to support that, and even if human activity DID contribute it would be miniscule in comparison to natural forces.

You can poison the water, but the earth has a cycle of weather change mostly associated with the sun.

The earth will be here long after we are extinct more than likely.

I don’t believe in climate change when i hear the words “the debate is over” and i never saw a debate only one side of an issue. I also don’t believe in climate change when i hear the words “case closed” when the case was never open. I look at both sides of an issue.

Why Don’t Republicans Believe in Climate Change?

Because it’s a collectivist ploy to steal everyone’s money and make them slaves to a global central committee?

DEPENDS upon what the meaning of “CLIMATE CHANGE” is.....if it’s the idiotic lies of the Left....NO, we’re smarter than to believe stupid claims based upon malfeasance in research and studies.....now the DEMS....they aren’t quite that smart yet...

Here’s a question: What beliefs exactly does it take to be someone who “denies” climate change? Given the lack of straight answers to this, I am assuming it means not swallowing whatever the politicians claim, word for word. People such as Lindzen, Christy, Clark, et. al don’t even entirely deny it.
