Missing Saudi “Genie” Girl Remains a Mystery

A Saudi teen age girl whose father says she has been kidnapped by a genie has remained missing more than a week after she disappeared from her house in central Saudi Arabia, a local newspaper reported on Monday.

Police and residents have expanded their hunt for the 16-year-old girl while several pilots using gliders have just joined the search in the central town of Alkharj and nearby mountains and valleys, Shams daily said.

“The Saudi Sky Glider Team has joined the search operation to find the girl, who has been missing since last week,” the paper said.

“The pilots have been conducting continuous flights with their air gliders above the town and surrounding mountains and valleys as well as other regions, accompanied by the girl’s brother so he can identify her.”

Newspapers said last week a large unit of local police backed by a civil defence aircraft and hundreds of town residents were looking for the girl, whose father said has been kidnapped by a jinn (genie).

The girl disappeared from her house a month ago but was found later in Riyadh.

She vanished again last week, triggering a massive search campaign.

“Her father believes she is possessed by a jinn, who threatened to take her to Riyadh last month and carried out his threat,” Shams said.

“He says this jinn speaks out through her and told them that he would take her to Riyadh…and that is what happened as they later found her in Batiha neighourhood in Riyadh…he then threatened that he would take her away and make her disappear forever…he said he would take her outside the country.”

Dad says genie kidnapped daughter

Saudi police backed by a civil defence aircraft and hundreds of town residents have launched an extensive operation in search of a teenage girl whose father says she has been kidnapped by a jinn (genie).

The 16-year-old Saudi girl disappeared from her house in the central town of Alkharj a month ago but was found later in Riyadh, Shams daily reported.

She vanished again three days ago, triggering a massive search campaign by the police, civil defence and residents of the town, the paper said.

“Her father believes she is possessed by a jinn, who threatened to take her to Riyadh last month and carried out his threat,” the daily said.

“He says this jinn speaks out through her and told them that he would take her to Riyadh…and that is what happened as they later found her in Batiha neighourhood in Riyadh…he then threatened that he would take her away and make her disappear forever…he said he would take her outside the country.”

But the paper said the unidentified father’s theory has been refuted by Moslem scholars on the grounds jinns can not transport humans.

It quoted Sheikh Ahmed al Aseeri, preacher at Alkharj state prison, as saying the girl could be suffering from mental problems.

“This story about a jinn taking the girl away can not be believed because jinns are not able to carry humans or make them disappear…they can control minds but not bodies so this theory is not correct,” he said.

According to the newspaper, the girl is short and lean and was wearing a white shirt when she disappeared from her house before dawn three days ago.

“She was in her room at around 2.00 am before she vanished…..her mother said her daughter cheated her when she gave her the wrong key for her room…the next day, they found out that she was not in her room,” the paper said.

I think we all know the truth.
I would bet my next house payment that the girl was very pretty. They’re the type who get killed by their Arab fathers most often.

No, most likely the girl is schizophrenic.

Mental illness is recognized by the authorities in Saudi Arabia and since the girl mentions hearing a voice, which she calls a ‘jinn’ (genie - a malevolent spirit), that is most likely the case. She cannot be punished for this.

I hope she didn’t wander into the desert and die. If covered over by sand it will be long time, if ever, she is found.

She's been found:

'Genie-Possessed' Girl Found in Riyadh

A Saudi teen age girl whose parents say she had been kidnapped by a genie has been found in Riyadh nearly two weeks after she disappeared from her house in another city, local newspapers reported on Saturday.

The 16-year-old girl was spotted wandering aimlessly in the streets of the capital by a Saudi man, who informed the police, the papers said. Police called her brother who identified the girl and took her home in the central town of Alkharj on Friday, they said.

“I spoke to my sister…she is alright but she looked ill and exhausted…she asked me to take her home,” the papers quoted her brother, Mohammed bin Jarbou Alarjani, as saying after escorting his sister from a Riyadh police centre.

The girl disappeared from her house nearly two weeks ago and her father said she had been kidnapped by a jihn (genie).

Police and civil defence units, backed by local inhabitants and aircraft, had combed a large area in and around Alkharj but failed to find the girl. More than a month ago, the girl went missing but was found later in Riyadh.

“Her father believes she is possessed by a jinn, who threatened to take her to Riyadh last month and carried out his threat,” Shams daily said last week.

“He says this jinn speaks out through her and told them that he would take her to Riyadh…and that is what happened as they later found her in Batiha neighourhood in Riyadh…he then threatened that he would take her away and make her disappear forever…he said he would take her outside the country.”

It is possible that she is/was possessed by a demon. If she is thus afflicted, let us pray that God will deliver her from her tormentors.

No, most likely the girl is schizophrenic.

Perhaps, there's a lot of inbreeding in the Middle-east. Inbreeding can contribute to organic forms of mental illness.

She could also be demonically possessed.

Marrying one’s cousin doesn’t produce healthy children, that’s a fact!
