How frightening! I’m glad you all and no one else was hurt. I’ve never heard of that happening in a Ford before. However, when I was about 11, my mom mistook the gas for the brake and hit a fire hydrant. She was driving the Maverick back then.

No one was hurt thankfully. My husband admitted that it had happened a month before on the highway. He passed a car and then he realized he was going 90 and it was continuing to go faster. He had trouble stopping it but thought it was just a weird one time thing. He should have gotten rid of the truck then. After we hit the car ahead of us we went to the car wash in preparation for getting rid of it and it happened again going into the car wash. That could have been a real tragedy, cars, people and gas pumps, what do you try to miss? he managed to stop it then with out a tragedy. That is when we called a wrecker, 3 times, it should have been dumped after the first time.
