therefore we are decorating our stores with poinsettia plants so that everyone can be included

Well guess no one better tell them about the tradition behind Pointsettias :)

Poinsettias are believed to have originated in central and south America and were recorded, described, and revered by the ancient Aztec peoples. This flowering plant eventually became a symbol of Christmas to the Mexican culture and it became a tradition to use poinsettia plants to decorate during Christmas time.

In 1824 the American Ambassador to Mexico, Joel Poinsett attended church service on Christmas Eve and was impressed with the bright red flowers used to decorate the church alter. Poinsett took seeds with him when he went back to America and shared the plants with local churches during Christmas celebrations over the next several years.

Because Joel Poinsett was so closely associated with the plant in the United States, people who bought them started calling them Poinsett’s plants or Poinsettias. Today, millions of Poinsettia plants decorate homes throughout the world. The colors of the plant, red to represent the blood shed for human redemption and green representing the promise of new life and rebirth tie in with the religious teachings of Christmas and the preparation of starting a new year.

I know people of different faiths, and have yet to hear anybody of any different faith say that they are offended by Christmas, the Christmas season, Christmas trees, or any other symbols of Christmas or Christianity.

Granted, most people I know are conservative, not liberal, however, it leads me to believe that this business that non-Christians are somehow offended by Christmas is nonsense.

I think that the LEFTISTS think that non-Christians SHOULD be offended, because the LEFTISTS themselves are offended by religion in general, and Christianity in particular. So the left puts out this offended crapola and says they are speaking for non-Christians. If we are intimidated by the left, then this becomes the public narrative.

You bet, offend 80% of your customers to not offend less than 10% of your customers. Now that’s a sound business decision.

Buffett is a non believer as I recall. This is the same asshat who touts raising the income tax. When asked if he would just send more, of course he defers an answer.

I love it when someone who made his fortune using the capital gains alternate tax schedule comments about what I should pay on my ordinary income. Hey Warren, take one of your net jets into the side of one of the Rockies and make us all happy.

we are decorating our stores

Stores?

“Scuse me...Are the Benjamins on sale?”

“We want everyone to be included...”

Except those who want you to acknowlege that without Christmas, THERE IS NO FREAKIN CELEBRATION!!!

Glad I have no business with these a-ho—s.

Correct. You will find Christmas trees all over the shopping centers in Japan this time of year. About 1% of Japanese are Christians.

The Christmas tree wasn't even an invention of early Christians. It was an invention of the Druid tribe, as was the burning yule log. The Druids believed that the sun was burning out and only elaborate ceremonies including firing flaming arrows at the sun, burning yule logs and decorating evergreens would appease the gods and prevent the world from sinking into eternal night. The event climaxed on December 25, when the small increase in daylight hours first became noticeable.

In order to convert the Druids and other Germanic tribes to Christianity, it was decided to move Christmas to December 25 in the waning days of the Roman Empire.

At one time, this was such common knowledge that the Puritans and the most anti-Catholic zealots among the Protestant world banned the celebration of Christmas, including Christmas trees. It was only by the later half of the 18th century as the Puritans mellowed and settlers from other groups (notably Quakers, Catholics, Germans, Swedes, Dutch and Jews) reached critical mass that the restrictions on Christmas celebrations were relaxed and the Christmas tree made a comeback.

“A corporate spokesperson told FOX35 News they don’t put up Christmas trees so as not to offend their non-Christian customers.”

Now wait a minute, I thought they were “Holiday Trees” so they wouldn’t offend anybody. I can’t keep up with the PC contortions.

HELLO - All their precious money says “In God we trust” on it. If that doesn’t offend the non-believers, then why would a Christmas tree? UGH - people these days....!

Disgusting.

Do a web search on the history of their name, Wachovia.

They don’t deserve it any longer.

Wachovia is a den of thieves and moral punks.

Actually, First Union was as you describe. They bought a good reputation to hide behind once the FU (aptly named) gig was up, and then ended up trashing it, too.

Wachovia was the name of a frontier Christian settlement in North Carolina, established in 1753.

It's the Latin form of "Der Wachau," which was the estate of a Saxon count, von Zinzendorf, who gave persecuted Christians shelter and protected them. The estate was in the Danube Valley, and this part of NC reminded them of it.
