Mr Gilmour, a 21-year-old Cambridge student, was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and criminal damage after climbing the Cenotaph and swinging from a Union flag at the protests on Thursday.
New pictures of Mr Gilmour show him lighting a pile of newspapers at the entrance to the Supreme Court. His attempt was foiled after fellow students alerted police about what he was doing.

"They gave him time" "Door clang, chain gang" "He done it!"
Wormwood Scrubs beckons Charlie.
Apparently he DO need some education, with apologies to Pink Floyd.
Interestingly, "Brain Damage" was written in tribute to good ol' Charlie.
I guess they saw that he was about to start the fire and ratted him out. Why he was not arrested for trying to burn down the building then is beyond me. He also stole boots from a looted store. I think the fire trick could be something that gets him thrown in jail.
Pyromaniacal wanker.
Just declare yourself a muzzie, Charlie. The Lords of the British Empire will tremble at your feet and grant your every wish.
Papa must be so proud of the little halfwit.
The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Charlie Gilmour
The Cenopath pictures were bad enough but the fire at the wooden door of the Supreme Court. I feel sorry for his step father. If I were him, I would make sure the kid was out of my will and would stipulate that his money going to the wife cannot go to Charlie.
He’s as nasty as his natural father but much, much stupider. If he were a purely anonymous young man, he’d be in prison for the next few years.
David has seven others of his own to deal with (4 from wife #1, 3 from wife #2). Hopefully he will worry about them and not this useless baggage brought in with Polly Sampson.
Protesting is one thing but pyromania, theft and swinging on one of the most famous monuments to war dead and claiming not to know what it is - proves he is a liar.
Polly's mother or grandmothers or his father's mother/grandmother was a Chinese commie that was close to Mao.
