Ray, I'm not sure what you are saying... According to authoritative sources, as of 12/01/2010:

the Latest nook has a screen resolution of 1024×600 and a pixel density of 169 pixels per inch and the iPad has a screen resolution of 1024-by-768-pixel resolution at 132 pixels per inch

Any apparent difference is screen size (6" to 9.7"), which affects dot pitch...but screen resolution is essentially the same.

I think the small screen size plus the 1204x600 resolution is why the Color Nook looks so good at rendering text. This is why I really want Apple to use 1280x768 or 1280x960 resolution for the 2G iPad for cleaner looking text--effectively Retina Display quality holding the iPad between 1.5 and 2 feet from your eyes.
