Even as Perry requested the Recovery Act money, he railed against it. On the very same day he asked for the funds, he set up a petition titled "No Government Bailouts."
"Join our fight and add your voice to a growing list of several thousand Americans who are fed up with this irresponsible spending that threatens our future," Perry wrote on his blog on Feb. 18, 2009.

Yep the low hanging fruit from the money tree has been plucked and used. It’s now time to make some tough choices regarding bringing expenditures into line with the projected income. This will domino all the way down to the lowest entiety that receives monies from the state. So Texans and others that spend money in the state can look for unique ways by the state to raise revenue and agencies will have to make some tough choices on what expenditures to reduce or eliminate.
Washington’s money?????? I always thought most of the money doled out by D.C. had previously been confiscated from the citizens of the 50 states or borrowed from China.
