Tiger Woods may face censure from European Tour for spitting on 12th green
UK Telegraph ^ | 12-14-2011 | Kevin Garside

The largely expat gallery had flocked to the Omega Dubai Desert Classic to see Woods win for the first time in more than a year. Instead, what they got for their money was an exhibition of spitting by Woods that might yet receive a rebuke from the European Tour to match that of Sky commentator Ewen Murray, who gave him both barrels on air.

The PGA has no problem with Woods swearing, spitting, throwing golf clubs and other antics. What about that drug testing too? What a joke.

"The world No 3(Woods), who started one off the lead, bogeyed two of the opening three holes and put a wedge into the water at the last from 100 yards. The double-bogey finish left him in a share of 20th place, seven shots behind winner Alvaro Quirós."

A wedge 100 yards out into the water??? Pro golfers rarely do that.

This Spanish kid Quiros should be nicknamed The Bull because he crushes the ball at 350+ yards per drive easy. He also has a short game plus he can putt. Tiger's time may be over because these mega bombers like Quiros, Bubba Watson, and Dustin Johnson can hit is 350 yards plus and they have added the other aspects of the game.

In addition, Woods also has to face a almost as long but incredible technician in Martin Kaymer.

Even so, Tiger’s well ahead of the pace of Nicklaus, and should pass Sneed despite this massive slump.

He does not have it anymore. His game is now at “scratch’. Bet he is still up to his old tricks.

Tiger will never accomplish what Jack did. He picks and chooses his tournaments and has focused on the “majors) (US Open, Masters, PGA and British Open), which Jack did not focus on just to beta someone’s record. In Jack’s day pro golfers had to play all the time in order to eat. Jack’s wins in all tournaments will never be surpassed by Tiger. Also, Jack coming in 2nd in so-called “majors” will not be bested by the spoiled one.

Nope. He may get it together but now he can just win in set up tourneys like the end of last year in Australia against local club pros. It is a setup like a washed up fighter taking on sterno bums. The current field is too good.

Hitting a wedge 100 yards from the hole into the water? He may pass Snead but Jack? I doubt it.

Every time I see Woods on TV, I root against him. He is a characterless adultering narcissist who is Obama’s uglier twin.

Tiger has 4 majors per year and he is going to have a tough time. His knee has been operated on 3 times? British Open? No way. He missed the cut in 2009. Masters? If Phil is playing well then forget it. Phil was awesome last year. PGA and US Open maybe but the young guns at the PGA were pretty awesome last year. Bombers DJ and Bubba, technician Kaymer and 21 year old Rory McIlroy.

The Tiger fanboys on GolfWrx have said that Tiger should aswallow his pride and go back to Butch Harmon who is supposedly the best golf coach in the world. Tiger quit Butch years ago.

Butch has Mickelson and about 5 other very good golfers as clients - all nice guys too. So Butch is gonna take back cheap Tiger when Mickelson probably pays him $1 million a year? Butch gets on well with cheerful Phil too. Ain’t gonna happen. Butch does not even like Tiger.

If the slump lasts another two years, I’d agree.

However, he’s still well ahead of Jack’s pace.

Woods may be a great golfer, but sadly his parents never taught him any manners and he’s a spoiled, bratty, no class little punk.

Nope. Jack had 14 majors by the time he was Tiger's current age. (Tiger has 14 majors as well). I doubt he'll ever catch Jack. And if he doesn't dramatically improve his game he may not catch Snead ether.

Spitting on the green -- how Sergio Garcia of him. Two perpetually bitter punks.

Nicklaus won his 15th in the 78 open, when he was 38.

Tiger’s just now turned 35. Tiger’s still 3 majors ahead of Jack, who won 3 when he was 35, in ‘75.

The mother is a Thai and I read that she encourage him to beat his opponents to the point of humiliating them. I am glad the European Tour told him enough. He was swearing up a storm and throwing club in 2009 at The (British) Open when he missed the cut because he was playing poorly.

Did Jack have a bum knee and a sh*tty attitude? The young players are too good now and much longer than Tiger.

Jack’s advantage is that he was always longer than his peers. Jack would crush it.

Then there also is the steroids rumors, the speculation that he got off them after the 2008 US Open and it hurt his golf. I am not talking about Jack.

I wasn’t think about Earl’s anger from a moral standpoint as much as an image angle, from golf etiquette (Tiger’s went down the tubes after Earl died) to the perception of a solid family man.
