Yes, I'm sure it was a “dare”. Although, anything a kid educated by our public system will do these days doesn't really surprise me.

Another product of the public school system?
Seriously, too many parents think it is okay to leave teens on their own for overnight or a weekend, this is an example of teens just doing stupid things and not thinking of consequences.......they do need adult supervision....

If this was my kid, I would help him recover to the best of my ability. When he was healthy, I would beat the crap out of him.

I read a story once that detailed the injuries sustained by the bodies of Golden Gate jumpers. Not a pretty sight. Since hitting water from that height is almost like hitting concrete, that anyone could survive that is no small miracle.

I bet if you point your toes and hit the water fully perpendicular, your chances of swimming away are decent. Then it’s just the hypothermia you have to worry about.

Then its just the hypothermia you have to worry about. That, and maybe how to modestly cover your genitals, now that they're vying for trachea territory.

If your friend jumped off a bridge, would you jump too? No. And a few FReepers have seen my bungee jumping picture that proves it...
