Netflix’s Deep Integration With Facebook Under Way

Here’s an analogy that President “Bracket” Obama can understand: Imposing a no-fly zone at this stage is a little like keeping LeBron James and Dwayne Wade on the bench almost the entire game and then, down 20 points and with a minute left, putting them on the floor.

They might change the score — but not the final outcome.

“Netflix’s Deep Integration With Facebook Under Way”

I can buy 1,000 Facebook likes for $9 from our friends in India. Am I on the right track to get a free movie from Netflix?

Every time Netflix does something like this, I am concerned for the fragility of their business model. On one side, they are vulnerable to the Post Office, which could destroy their mail side; and they are also vulnerable to bandwidth providers, which could destroy their streaming side.

And they face serious competitors on both sides. Were I to guess, I would say that *something* is going to destroy Netflix within 10 years, with 50/50 odds for destruction in just 5 years. Which is a pity, because I like their service.

I don’t think this Facebook deal is the way to go, so I hope they are doing so just to block out competitors.
