Katie Couric may finally get the chance to become a regular on "60 Minutes," now that she is apparently stepping down from the nightly news anchor job.
An offer to become a regular correspondent for the prestigious Sunday night TV magazine is part of the package being offered Couric -- if she'll stay and do a projected daytime talk show for CBS, according to several network insiders.
Ironically, Couric's 2006 contract called for her to contribute to the magazine at least six times a year, which never happened.
When the show's notoriously prickly producers failed to give her any assignments, Couric turned elsewhere.

She just needs to let her eyebrows grow a bit and she can have Andy Looney’s job. With a smirk, a smile and some not too well thought out comments, she’ll be a natural.

If I were running CBS, I’d give her “60 Minutes” to pack her stuff and get out of the building.
She’s a failure on all shows because she’s impossible to listen to. She’d be perfect for the OWN network.
Well, she’s earned it, worked hard, and NOBODY is more qualified. Go Katie Go...
But, don’t feed anyone rotten Chili while at 60 minutes, or they might do a 20 minute segment on you...

She’ll make it seem like 90 minutes.

I don't know if they still do this but they used to have a "letters" section on 60 minutes. One letter read "You guys have two eyes, why do you see only out of the left one?" Loved that.
