Anyone else been sampling Momma's "Apple Pie"...??
Great cast; Timothy Oliphant (who is producing Season 2...), and Walton Goggins who we spent the entire run of "The Shield" hoping someone would finally blow his head off...
Not to mention Dickey and (the late) Cooter...
No doubt this is the best show currently on television.
Not a bad show despite the politically correct villans.
I’ve grown to like Boyd Crowder. He’s a bit deeper than he originally appeared.
Our favorite show. We learned to love Olyphant on “Deadwood”.
Watched season 1 on hulu. Now watching season 2. Great show.
I became an Olyphant fan from watching Deadwood.
I LOVE Elmore Leonard!
Great show.
The 2-part where Winona takes the $100 bill was excellent. Especially, part 2, when Winona explains why she took the money. The various facial expressions on Givens (Oliphant) were priceless.
Same here. My favorite character. Didn't care for the story arc with Winona pilfering the money but the last two episodes were good.
The first time I saw him was in “The Crazies”. Mrs. L find him to be very, very easy on the eyes, too. LOL
My better half particularly likes his appearance in Hitman.
I agree
I believe his name was “Coover”. And his “brother” is Jeremy Davies. He played the Corporal on SAVING PRIVATE RYAN and CHARLES MANSON.
Mags played the “whore” that was Newt’s “first” on LONESOME DOVE. Great talent on this show. All the actors are great on there and most of them are not southerners. They must have a great dialect coach.
Went to school in Kentucky and the show rings true. Just visit Harlan County.
Georgia Girl 2,
I’m shocked that a nice girl like you saw fit to watch a show like Deadwood with language that would make a sailor blush.
Great show and it was WAY cool to go to the city of Deadwood after watching it for a few years.
Wife kid and I sat in a saloon at about 9 in the morning listening to a local born and raised tell us in detail about the city.
At the time we were the only folks there it was so early and she loved it history and did a great job.
Anyway Olyphant does a fine job and the show accurately depicts rural Appalachia.
yah....I’ve been keeping an eye open for Elmore Leonard books, and I’m currently reading “Maximum Bob”...
We never got into Deadwood that much because we don’t have HBO, but I’m seriously considering putting that collection up on my Netflix Queue.
And Margo Martindale has hit her stride as Momma...she’s been a character actress in movies and television for decades, and she is just perfect playing Mags Bennett...
His writing style delights me so. I just love his brevity and quick pace.
bttt.....best show on tv....we’re watching from the beginning and we are HOOKED....best acting...best dialogue....sorry I’m so late to the party but better late than never...
