JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Tiger Woods pulled out of the U.S. Open on Tuesday because of lingering issues with his left leg, leaving him uncertain how soon he can resume his pursuit of Jack Nicklaus' record for major titles.
It will be the first time Woods has missed the U.S. Open since 1994, when he had just graduated high school.
"I am extremely disappointed that I won't be playing in the U.S. Open, but it's time for me to listen to my doctors and focus on the future," Woods said on his website. "I was hopeful that I could play, but if I did, I risk further damage to my left leg. My knee and Achilles tendon are not fully healed."

He still makes 90 Million a year off sponsorships.
So, does that answer the question?
I’m not a golf fan, but with every passing day it becomes more and more likely that this guy will never win another major tournament again.
Good. Can’t stand him.
just gettin in shape for the champions tour
Uh....no.
Why would anyone pay that kind of money to A LOSER and a QUITTER?
The cash is going bye-bye, and soon, I hope.
“Damn I wish we weren’t paying this guy $90 million”
He isn’t making 90 Million anymore.
I just finished, (for about the 4th time, they are that good!!), 2 auto biographies. One by Arnie and one by Jack. Both were written around ‘97 or so, (just when Tiger was starting out on the tour or there abouts). Their golf related stories, past tournaments, wins/loses et al were great but listening to how these two men tried to conduct their lives off the course, their devotion to their folks, wives and kids, the way they felt about responsibility to sponsors, personal responsibility for mistakes, the way they were raised by mid western old school type parents etc. etc. etc. well, quite a contrast to Tiger Woods. Jack leans right for the most part, Arnie is a staunch conservative. 2 great MEN in my view.
Good. Can’t wait to see him lose that too. Then he won’t have an excuse....but he’ll make one up anyway.
