Chefs at the Alameda County Fair will attempt to grill a 625 pound hamburger on July 2. They'll cook up the gigantic ground beef patty on the world's largest barbeque.
It will contain a whopping 1,375,000 calories and will be served up in 99 cent bites.

They can build a giant novelty burger, but they can't save a man from drowning? Making the burger is approved policy. Saving the dying man was not.
Don't annoy them - they did nothing wrong, and they can cite all of the necessary policies to prove it. If you keep it up, you will be in violation of other policies.
This is the SF Bay Area - I'm not joking. Not one bit. And either are they.
Oh, by the way - it is also the policy to refer to these policies as "kind, caring and humane."
Seriously.

I was thinking how charred the outside of the meat would be in order to cook the center.

I'm betting that CARB will put an end to it, claiming that BBQing it would put too many particulates in the air.

That is TWO COWS worth of burger - a cow dresses out to about 300# burger, and 300# steak/roasts.
Amazing.

Well, they’ve been grilling a giant Weiner for a week, so it makes sense.
