Good morning, Trial Watchers.
I understand the defense is supposed to rest its case today. I think most of agree that they have not only been unable to raise reasonable for the Defendant, but they have damaged her case. Like Judge Jeanine said, "It's been amateur hour."
Thanks to everyone for doing such a good reporting job on yesterday's thread, I had to be out all day and got caught up when I got home.
Today should be a very big day. There is still the Motion to Dismiss to be argued, which should come after the State presents its rebuttal case. Does anyone know if they might start today if the defense finishes early? Judge Perry is trying to hurry everything along, and doing an excellent job, IMO.

I hope people post what they have heard. I actually moved a meeting with a client from today to tomorrow. I don't want to miss her testimony if it is today. I want to look in those cold dead eyes, hear her own words, and judge her credibility myself.
What on earth she could possibly say in her defense, I can't imagine. I suspect it will be a real Menendez moment.

She has to now. The defense has done absolutely nothing to prove Baez's bold and dramatic opening statement and their theory of what happened. If they are to get ANY evidence to the jury about the alleged sexual abuse and accidental drowning, (barring some surprise witness testimony today) it will have to come from the aspiring serial killer's own mouth. Then Ashton will verbally burn her at the stake.

I am certain that Baez doesn’t want her on the stand.
Casey is a liar and has a tendency to make faces.
Right now the defense is putting on idiots who really are irrelevant as to whether Casay killed Caylee.

Well, here comes the alleged mistress of George on the stand. Claims her father "used to call her River." Right, I believe that.
Sounds to me like she's lying right out of the starting gate.

They say that she might go on the stand for one or two questions only. Was she sexually abused? That kind of quicky on the stand will seriously limit the cross she can get from the prosecution.

I have a doctor’s appt. this morning, darn it. I hope to catch up on everything when I get back.
I don’t think Casey will testify. Everything she says is a lie. But, Baez is dumb enough to put her on the stand.

When the appeals start, there will be one on “uneffecual defense” as one, as well as the judge being “pro” proscusion.

You are probably right. I’ve heard Judge Napolitano suggest the same thing.

It wouldn't surprise me if she were a mistress. However, I wonder how relevant her testimony is in regards to Casey's guilt vs. innocence.
My sense is not relevant AT ALL.

Yes, and that would be the only strategic way to do it, and it would limit the scope of questions. However, whatever Casey says will open the door to an unlimited number of questions on the subject uttered.

I still don’t think what this woman has to offer means much.
I can’t wait until the prosecution gets her.

River Cruz is blowing it wide open. George is in this up to his eyeballs. The State is in a Panic.

I don’t see this judge as pro prosecution. It seems more like Baez is a very unartful defender and has to be corrected all the time.

Why? This woman has no proof of anything other than emails and phone calls.
