To help win his second term; Clinton took credit for deficit reduction

Remember Dick Morris and his triangulation? If Obama comes off as the guy who lowered the deficit, which is really a continuation of the stimulus, (that's what we are fighting to end.) Then he will win the court of public opinion on this one. He really has no other choice if Republicans actually dig in; than to take this tact.

Isn't it horrible that we are not even confident Republicans will do the right thing? D.C. needs an exorcism, it is truly possessed!

The difference is Obama and the democrats have tripled the deficit, have socialized great chunks of the economy, have lost millions of private sector jobs, and in short have institutionalized the recession.

And everyone knows it.

All Clinton could be dinged for is raising taxes somewhat and attempting a healthcare takeover. He still had the Reagan boom going for him.

Obama will no doubt try to claim credit for any improvement between now and the election (which there will not be) but he's damaged goods as far as the independents are concerned. And they'll be the deciding factor.

Thanks big bad easter bunny. Clinton was the first (or maybe second, after Carter) of the Demwit candidates memed into office by partisan media shills. Zero is the second.

The debt was 4 trillion lower when he arrived. Not credible to claim any hand in lowering debt or deficit with his track record. That dog ain’t gonna hunt.
