O.K. I admit it. I'm a big fan of Sarah, especially after her appearance on Hannity last night. So when I'm away from the computer for awhile and want to see if there are new threads about her, I have always clicked "Keyword: Palin" in the "Popular Keywords" sidebar block.
Well, I have decided to configure my sidebar to display the ten most recent threads about her. It took a bit of head scratching about how to do it, so when I figured it out, I decided to share the really easy but somewhat obscure (for a dunce like me) procedure. As with Breaking News and Front Page News your reconfigured sidebar will automatically update every time you come back and refresh/reload the Forum or your Ping page.
1. Click on Keyword "Palin" in the "Popular Keywords" side bar.
2. Wait for it to load and scroll down to the bottom.
3. Click "Add to My Page"
4. A screen "My Page Layout" opens with "Keyword: palin" at the top.
5. Select the position ("weight") you want to have it appear on the sidebar (you may have to renumber some of the others).
6. Select the number of threads ("size") to be displayed under the topic or keyword. Ten is a good number for me.
7. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Modify"
The list of recent threads appears in your sidebar. You can chose any number of topics or keywords to display. Mine include topics NM and AZ and keywords "global warming" and "climate change" plus several others. If you are not on a topic or keyword ping list this is a really effective way to keep informed of topics you chose.
;)
Working now.
Thanks!
Forget it. Sidebar Moderator was lost at sea a few years ago.
And I imagine Romney fans can configure their page at Kos or DU to show their dream candidate. I hope and pray that we will nominate Palin, Bachmann, Cain, DeMint, Perry, Ronald Reagan, or Abe Lincoln. Any combination of the first four would be great, and, while I know the last two are dead, they'd still do a much better job than Mitt the Twit.
Thank you!!
I think Sidebar Moderator's main job is to move threads out of Breaking News and to Chat. I saved him the trouble.
Keywords in the sidebar - cool!
Thanks
Thanks! I had forgotten how to do this.
